My Background
I was born and raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin and attended catholic schools from my elementary years through my college career. I received a bachelors degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Early Childhood from St. Norbert College. After college, I moved to the Chicagoland area. I currently live in Westchester with my husband Chuck and three girls. I have taught in the Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic Schools for over three decades teaching children in grades PK3, PK4, Kindergarten and Grade1. Being part of a faith based learning community has been an important part of my life and teaching career. I feel blessed to be part of the Ascension Family!
My Classroom
Kindergarten is my favorite grade to teach because it is such a magical time! I strive to provide love and individual guidance for the "whole child" socially, emotionally, cognitively and physically. I believe children learn best through a "hands on" learning approach, offering a variety of experiences including, puzzles, art, science, sensory, and dramatic play. Differentiated instruction in math and reading help build a foundation of skills necessary for success in first grade. It is important to me that I establish a relationship of love, kindness and respect with the students at Ascension School.
