My Background
I have been a parishioner of Ascension for 17 years. I was raised in Downers Grove, Illinois, where I attended Downers Grove South High School. I graduated from Saint Mary's of Winona, Minnesota and received my bachelors degree. My husband and I live in Oak Park, and currently have one child that attends Ascension. Michael is a seventh grader, who loves seeing the kindergartners wave to him in the hallway. Our daughter, Maeve, graduated from Ascension in 2018 and is currently a senior at Oak Park River Forest High School and our son, Jimmy, graduated from Ascension in 2020 and is a sophomore at Oak Park River Forest High School. I was blessed to stay home with my children until my youngest was in school full-time. I began substitute teaching at Ascension in 2014, and taught kindergarten full-time beginning with the 2018-2019 school year. I am excited to be teaching kindergarten for a fourth year!
My Classroom
Your child's ideas, thoughts and actions will be valued in my classroom. We will use a variety of tools to present information to the students while making the classroom environment fun and energetic for the students. It is my mission to build on your child's strengths while instilling a love for learning. Our school's motto of "Love, Kindness, Respect" will be our expectation of how kindergarteners act toward each other. My classroom is a nurturing environment in which your child will feel successful and proud!
Our subjects include Reading, Math, Social Studies, Science, Music, Spanish and Gym.
